Uterine myomas are benign tumors of the uterus. They are observed in 20-25% of women over the age of 35. Myomas often cause symptoms such as bleeding and pain. They can also exert pressure on surrounding organs, leading to increased urination, constipation, and difficulty feeling completely relieved after bowel movements. For myomas smaller than 8 cm that do not cause symptoms, monitoring every 3-6 months may be recommended. For myomas larger than 8 cm or those causing symptoms, surgical intervention is typically advised.
